Proximity Card Reader

The proximity card reader will be the card reading device, connected to the door controller. The unit is capable of reading the card without physical contact. The card reader reads the card data & passes it on to the door controller for validation.

The card readers have high reliability, consistent read range characters, low power consumption and are easy to install. The card readers for the doors have a read range of 6 – 7 cms. They have multi colour LED to indicate normal / pass status.

The reader is scaled in a rugged weatherized polycarbonate enclosure designated to withstand harsh environments and they provide high degree of vandal resistance for both indoors or outdoors. The readers are compact and are suitable for operation from 0 to 50 Deg. C at operating humidity of 10% to 95% non-condensing.

The proximity cards are capable of being read without a direct contact by the proximity card reader. The proximity card will carry the facility code & the card number.

All the cards issued for the various facilities have a common facility code to allow inter operability of the cards from one site to another.

The card numbers will be unique to each card & the systems at each facility permits access only to select card numbers, based on the programming.

The proximity card incorporates radio frequency identification electronics into a thin, durable poly carbonate package.

The cards are thin and flexible so that they can be carried in a wallet. It has extremely consistent read range that is not affected by body shielding, environmental conditions and when close to metal objects.

The card encoding format will be so designed that additional cards can be ordered at a subsequent date without upgrading firmware in the existing readers.
